Jang Jae Ho has emerged as a standout performer in Netflix’s Squid Game Season 2, making waves as the rare Pink Guard who reveals his face.
The sophomore season of the global phenomenon follows Lee Jung Jae’s Gi Hun returning to the game seeking revenge, facing off against the Front Man (Lee Byung Hun). Within this high-stakes narrative, Jang Jae Ho portrays a guard involved in organ trafficking, delivering an unsettling performance as he terrorizes No Eul (Park Gyu Young) for refusing to cooperate with their illicit operations.
In a series where guards typically remain faceless and emotionless, Jang’s character breaks the mold by not only revealing his face but also displaying unhinged rage toward No Eul. His portrayal of unbridled malice has earned him recognition as the season’s memorable “villain guard,” marking a dramatic departure from his previous roles.
Jang, who made his debut in 2008 with the play The Regret in That Blanket, recently gained public attention in tvN’s Marry My Husband as Lee Jae Won, husband to Yang Ju Ran (Gong Min Jeung). In that role, he drew viewers’ ire as a shameless unemployed husband who relies on his youth and good looks while engaging in affairs.
Meanwhile, Squid Game Season 2 has already claimed the No. 1 spot in 93 countries since its release, continuing the franchise’s global dominance, and is currently streaming on Netflix.
