The main cast of KBS2’s new weekend drama “Iron Family” has shared their thoughts on what viewers can look forward to in the drama!
“Iron Family” is a new “romantic black comedy” about a family that has run a laundry business for three generations. Geum Sae Rok stars as Lee Da Rim, the youngest daughter of the Cheongryeom Laundry family, who suffers from a rare illness that progressively narrows her vision. Kim Jung Hyun plays Seo Kang Joo, an executive director at Jiseung Group, who belongs to the richest family in the Cheongryeom neighborhood but struggles to earn the approval of his father.
First, Kim Jung Hyun described “Iron Family” as “relaxing,” explaining, “I think it will be nice for families to watch the show together, laugh, and take a break.” He added, “‘Iron Family’ tells the story of two families living in the same neighborhood—one with a traditional Korean family structure and another that only appears to be a family. The drama becomes more interesting if you think about how these two families live and reflect on the broader meaning of family.”
Next, Geum Sae Rok highlighted the unique charm of “Iron Family,” saying, “There are various characters that viewers can relate to depending on their personal situations.” She also expressed her affection for the drama, saying, “All the characters are endearing, and the situations they face will resonate with many people.”
Park Ji Young commented, “‘Iron Family’ might seem like a typical weekend drama. Viewers may have specific expectations for a weekend drama, but this drama has something special that will make it more exciting than people expect.” She added, “My character, Go Bong Hee, interacts with every other character in the show. If you focus on how Bong Hee handles things, the whole story will naturally come together,” further sparking interest in the drama.
Shin Hyun Joon remarked, “I love shows where each character comes to life with a distinct personality, and that’s exactly what ‘Iron Family’ offers. All the characters are full of life, and with top-tier actors from across Korea in this project, viewers can expect an experience as enjoyable as opening a complete gift set.” He confidently added that it will be a highly enjoyable show. Additionally, Kim Hye Eun shared, “It will be twice as fun if you try to guess the whereabouts of the bundle of money while watching.”
Choi Tae Joon and Yang Hye Ji both commented, “There are so many key points to watch for, but it’s definitely a show full of amazing chemistry. From the veteran actors Kim Young Ok and Park In Hwan to the different couples, viewers will find it really enjoyable.” They added, “It’s a drama that portrays love across different age groups, and we think these various love stories will captivate viewers.”
“Iron Family” will premiere on September 28 at 8 p.m. KST.
