Im Soo Hyang, EXO’s Suho, and Chae Jong Hyeop are heading to Antarctica with chef Baek Jong Won for the new variety show “Chef of Antarctica” (literal title)!
Previously, on August 20, it was reported that Im Soo Hyang and Chae Jong Hyeop had been cast in “Chef of Antarctica.” At the time, an MBC representative briefly commented, “Nothing has been confirmed yet.” However, it has now been confirmed that they will be appearing on the show alongside Suho.
MBC’s “Chef of Antarctica” is a program that captures the process of preparing warm meals for a wintering team isolated in the harsh Antarctic environment out of a sense of duty. Baek Jong Won, Im Soo Hyang, Suho, and Chae Jong Hyeop will be featured as wintering team members at the forefront of climate change research in Antarctica.
MBC is returning to Antarctica for the first time in 13 years since the “Tears of the Antarctic,” aiming to highlight issues related to climate change and the Antarctic ecosystem.
The production team stated, “This project began with Chef Baek Jong Won’s sincere desire to create meaningful cuisine in Antarctica. Im Soo Hyang, Suho, and Chae Jong Hyeop are fully preparing to fulfill their roles as team members in Antarctica, so we ask for your anticipation.”
“Chef of Antarctica” is slated to air in the first half of next year.
