Upcoming film “Harbin” has offered a thrilling glimpse into its suspenseful story!

Set in 1909 and starring Hyun Bin as Ahn Jung Geun, “Harbin” is a historical spy thriller about resistance fighters aiming to end the Japanese occupation of Korea. In addition to Hyun Bin, the movie also stars Lee Dong Wook, Park Jung Min, Jeon Yeo Been, Jo Woo Jin, Park Hoon, Yoo Jae Myung, Lily Franky, and more.

Newly released stills capture a tense moment as Ahn Jung Geun (Hyun Bin), Woo Deok Soon (Park Jung Min), Kim Sang Hyun (Jo Woo Jin), and Madam Gong (Jeon Yeo Been) board a train bound for Harbin. Their mission is to eliminate a notorious aging wolf. The characters’ intense gazes as they carry out their covert operation under heavy surveillance add a chilling edge. These images alone hint at the film’s unique tone, distinguishing it from other portrayals of the Japanese colonial era and independence fighters.

To bring the Harbin-bound train to life, the production team constructed a full-scale train set in Andong, built to precise 1:1 proportions. The meticulously crafted interior captures the atmosphere and texture of the space, making audiences feel as though they are aboard the swaying train. Cinematographer Hong Kyung Pyo explained, “Filming train scenes requires technical expertise, but using my experience from ‘Snowpiercer,’ we developed effective techniques to make the scenes more realistic.”

“Harbin” will hit theaters on December 24.
