The Ministry of Employment and Labor is reviewing a petition to revoke HYBE’s “Top Employer” designation after a recent petition calling for the cancellation garnered over 50,000 signatures.

According to a report from Ilgan Sports on November 11th, a representative from the ministry’s corporate employment support division stated, “HYBE is cooperating with regional offices, and the results of the investigation should be available soon. Based on these findings, we will promptly decide whether to rescind the ‘Top Employer’ status.”

As of 9 a.m. on November 11th, a petition titled “Request to Cancel HYBE’s Top Employer Designation” had collected 51,102 signatures, surpassing the threshold in just ten days. Under the National Petition System, if a petition collects 50,000 signatures within 30 days, it proceeds to a standing committee in the National Assembly for review.

If HYBE’s “Top Employer” title is revoked, the benefits will be rescinded immediately. Designated companies typically receive perks such as tax audit deferrals, customs investigation exemptions, deferred payment options, and preferential loan rates.

HYBE was named one of the Ministry of Employment and Labor’s “Top Employers” in September, joining 100 companies recognized for exceptional job creation. However, allegations of workplace bullying surrounding NewJeans prompted fans to call for the designation’s removal.

Additionally, in response to a civil complaint filed against HYBE, the Ministry of Employment and Labor recently confirmed it is investigating “workplace harassment and allegations of occupational accident cover-ups” within the company.
