Director Ryu Seung Wan’s action-crime film I, the Executioner (aka Veteran 2) has released its official teaser trailer.
I, the Executioner follows veteran detective Seo Do Cheol, played by Hwang Jung Min, who is known for his relentless pursuit of criminals. This time, he is joined by rookie detective Park Sun Woo, played by Jung Hae In, as they track down a notorious serial killer that has shaken the city.
The film is set for release on September 13th and is already generating buzz as one of the most anticipated movies of the year. It has been invited to both the Cannes Film Festival and the Toronto International Film Festival, making waves among film enthusiasts worldwide.
The teaser trailer offers a taste of the high-octane action that the Veteran series is known for, opening with Seo Do Cheol’s line, “Didn’t I tell you not to commit crimes?” The intense action sequences promise a thrilling cinematic experience. Jung Hae In’s portrayal of Park Sun Woo showcases a new side of the actor, hinting at a fresh direction under Ryu Seung Wan’s direction.
After a nine-year hiatus after the first installment, I, the Executioner aims to bring a new style to the action-crime genre. The film explores themes of societal distrust amid a flood of incidents and crimes, featuring criminals exploiting these conditions and those with misguided values committing further offenses.
