Months after it went to the public, Netflix’s original movie “Space Sweepers” is rumored to have a sequel!
After sweeping the viewers with its high-end special effects and pleasing visuals, the sci-fi film, starring Song Joong Ki, Kim Tae Ri, and Jin Sun Kyu, left a great impact on the audience.
57th Baeksang Arts Awards Winners Jeong Seong Jin and Jung Cheol Min to Reunite in “Space Sweepers” Sequel
Based on a media report on May 17, “Space Sweepers” has VFX artists Jeong Seong Jin and Jung Cheol Min as the creative minds who supervised the team in creating world class visual effects for the said project.
Previously, the duo also won the Art Award in the prestigious 57th Baeksang Arts Awards.
Jeong Seong Jin and Jung Cheol Min are said to be the next powerful duo to possibly implement an advanced technology. They already made some high profile works by combining real life and VFX in “Space Sweepers,” and they are also expected to join forces again for the movie’s sequel.
When “Space Sweepers” made its debut on Netflix, it already topped the list of the most watched movies on the famous online streaming platform. It also paved the way for a new era of Korean science fiction films.

Song Joong Ki, Kim Tae Ri, and Jin Sun Kyu are Not Yet Confirmed to Join the “Space Sweepers” Sequel
Almost 26 million were able to stream the movie in just 28 days after its successful release.
Meanwhile, Producer Silkil is planning to use the “Space Sweepers” IP to plan for its series, including a movie sequel. And of course, with the supervision of Jeong Seong Jin and Jung Cheol Min in terms of the visual effects.
The record-breaking film is in discussions to have a sequel movie and a series. Seems like there will be more to expect in the future for this project.
As the production is still in talks, the official members of the team are not yet releasing a statement whether “Space Sweepers” main cast Song Joong Ki, Kim Tae Ri, and Jin Sun Kyu will remain as the main actors of the film.
Knowing that the sequel is already in discussion, fans and viewers can’t wait for the final announcement regarding the upcoming project.
They also hope the main cast of the sci-fi film will participate.
