Gong Yoo is once again inviting viewers back into the twisted world of Squid Game.
On October 1st, Netflix released the “You’re Invited” teaser for the highly anticipated second season of the original series Squid Game (directed by Hwang Dong Hyuk).
The video opens with Gong Yoo beginning his day, enjoying a mountain view. He showers, dons a sharp suit, and retrieves ddakjis, an invitation, and cash from a safe. His destination? The same subway station where the “Squid Game” began. Approaching an unsuspecting target, Gong Yoo hands over the ddakji, asking, “Would you like to play a game with me?” The teaser ends with the iconic Squid Game theme music and the message, “Get back in the game.”
Squid Game Season 2 follows Gi Hun (Lee Jung Jae) as he abandons his plans to leave for the U.S. and returns to the deadly survival competition three years later. With 45.6 billion KRW (approx. $34 million USD) on the line, Gi Hun faces new participants and life-threatening challenges. Returning cast members include Lee Jung Jae, Lee Byung Hun, Wi Ha Jun, and Gong Yoo, joined by new faces like Yim Si Wan, Kang Ha Neul, Park Gyu Young, Lee Jin Wook, Park Sung Hoon, and more.
