Upcoming Netflix series “The Trunk” has unveiled the first glimpse of the on screen couple Seo Hyun Jin and Gong Yoo!

Based on a novel, “The Trunk” is about a secretive marriage service accompanied by a mysterious trunk. The story revolves around Noh In Ji (Seo Hyun Jin), an employee at NM (New Marriage) who finds herself deeply alone despite her job of living with a “contract husband” every year, and Han Jeong Won (Gong Yoo), who enters into this contract marriage in an ironic attempt to preserve his previous marriage.

Seo Hyun Jin is expected to vividly portray the empty and desolate inner world of Noh In Ji, who becomes isolated due to marriage. Seo Hyun Jin described her character, saying, “Noh In Ji is a person who lacks courage and is very fearful yet has a strong sense of altruism. If my character’s emotion is 100, I wanted to express just one-tenth of it, keeping it minimal.”

Gong Yoo also introduced his character Han Jeong Won as “a person living an emotionally unstable, lonely, and desolate life.” He said, “I portrayed him while thinking of him as someone with strong self-defense mechanisms who doesn’t reveal his true self or feelings.”

Director Kim Kyu Tae emphasized that the reason for him to decide to helm “The Trunk” was his anticipation for actors Seo Hyun Jin and Gong Yoo. He remarked, “They exceeded my expectations. Watching them work together, complimenting and encouraging each other, was an incredibly lovely combination from a director’s perspective.”
