Good news! The K-drama Crash will return for a season 2!
News from iMBC reported that content studio Astory declared on August 21, 2024 the production of a season renewal of the popular Disney+ K-drama titled “Crash” which stars Lee Min-ki, Kwak Sun-young , and Heo Seong-tae. Directed by Park Joon-woo and written by Oh Soo-jin, Crash aired episodes from May 13 to June 18, 2024, every Monday and Tuesday on South Korean channel ENA and Disney+.
We discover the story of the Traffic Crime Investigation Team (TCI) led by Captain Jeong Chae-man (Heo Seong-tae) who discovers road accidents and many other things and in his 12 episodes long, the drama investigates car accidents, murders and sinister crimes involving illegal syndicates.
According to Nielson Korea, the average overall audience rating nationwide was 4,754%, while it reached 4,985% in Seoul. The fact that the drama was broadcast on a smaller cable television channel (ENA) did not prevent it from reaching an audience rating of 6,943% during its final episode, the second highest audience rating of the history of the ENA.
Director Park Joonwoo Says Crash Season 2 Could Turn Into a “Korean-Style Long-Length Seasonal Investigative Work”
In episode 12 of the popular Disney+ K-drama, the Traffic Crime Investigation Team (TCI) saw its jurisdiction transferred from the National Police Agency to the National Investigation Headquarters. As reported by iMBC, the series’ screenwriter, Oh Soo-jin, mentioned that the upcoming season will reveal the backgrounds of all members of the TCI team as well as important characters in the Namgang Police Station.
« Season 2 will not only reveal the chemistry between the TCI team members, but also the colorful adventures of the characters in the Namgang Police Station. There will also be more traffic offense cases, so be prepared ” did he declare.
As for director Park Joon-woo, he added that the series could become a “long-running Korean-style seasonal investigation”, hinting at the possibility that the drama could be renewed for several seasons. He thus declared: “ It is with the support of viewers that I will work hard to make a Korean-style seasonal investigation series with more diverse episodes and improved car action scenes. ».

Let’s remember that season 1 was ended with the reunion of Traffic Crime Investigation Team (TCI) members Lee Min-ki, Kwak Sun-young, Heo Seong-tae, Moonhee and Lee Ho-chul after they found the missing girl and discovered the dark truth about the murders committed on Hwapyeong Island.
Although the TCI team was disbanded and its members were reassigned, they found each other again thanks to the Hwapyeong Island Murder Case and their successful efforts were praised by the headquarters, thus promoting the recovery of the team. The end of season 1 of Crash also hinted at the possibility of a season renewal.
