Dear Hyeri delivered the happy ending everyone had hoped for.

Nielsen Korea reported on October 30th that the final episode of the ENA drama garnered a nationwide viewership rating of 3.3%.

In the finale, Jeon Jae Yong (Yoon Ju Man) pushes Jung Hyun Oh (Lee Jin Wook) out of the way of an oncoming car. Shocked, Hyun Oh immediately calls for an ambulance, and Jae Yong is rushed to the ICU. Meanwhile, Chief So (Kim Dong Gyun), director of the PPS broadcasting network, pleads with Hyun Oh to take over the 9 PM news anchor position, as Jae Yong is unable to do so due to his injury. However, Hyun Oh is still shaken and declines the offer.

Hyun Oh eventually locked himself in his office after his coworkers repeatedly asked him to anchor the 9 PM news. With less than an hour to go before the newscast began, Eun Ho, at Ji On’s request, entered the office and found Hyun Oh overwhelmed with anxiety and distress. Eun Ho immediately embraced him. As Hyun Oh sobbed, worrying that someone might have died because of him, Joo Eun Ho (Shin Hye Sun) comforted him, saying, “No, it’s not your fault. If you do well, Jae Yong can come back and take over. You’re protecting everything he’s been working on.” Hyun Oh successfully covered the 9 PM news and breathed a sigh of relief when he heard that Jae Yong had regained consciousness.

Eun Ho met with her doctor and revealed that Hyeri’s personality was no longer appearing. She expressed her desire to have a good farewell with Hyeri. The scene then shifted to Hyun Oh’s home, where everyone who had known Hyeri had gathered. When Eun Ho asked Kang Joo Yeon (Kang Hoon) what she wanted to say to Hyeri, Joo Yeon replied, “I’ll be happy, Hyeri. Thank you for helping me and my mom realize how precious life is.” Min Young (Oh Kyung Hwa) tearfully expressed her reluctance to say goodbye to Hyeri, but Eun Ho responded, “Hey, you’re amazing. I’m Joo Eun Ho. Let’s be friends.”

Hyun Oh watched this scene with a gentle smile and then surprised everyone by saying to Eun Ho, “Eun Ho, let’s get married.” Eun Ho was startled and asked him if he was serious. Hyun Oh reiterated his proposal, saying, “Let’s get married, Joo Eun Ho. I think I need to marry you, Joo Eun Ho.” Finally realizing that Hyun Oh was proposing, Eun Ho hugged him happily, saying, “Yes, I want to. More than anything.”

Dear Hyeri has delivered unique comfort and resonance to viewers by tackling the subject of dissociative identity disorder. The drama also seamlessly incorporated two romantic relationships, creating a heartwarming and exciting viewing experience.

While many viewers were satisfied with the finale, some viewers expressed that the ending could have been stronger, particularly in terms of the second male lead’s storyline and the exploration of dissociative identity disorder. Look at the viewer reaction below.
