The notorious YouTuber behind the channel “Sojang,” known for her defamatory videos about celebrities, found herself in a humiliating chase with reporters.

On May 27th, Seoul Central District Court held a trial for A, the operator of Sojang, who was charged with violating the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization and Information Protection (Defamation). A faced charges for damaging Kang Daniel’s reputation with a video titled “The Promiscuous Private Life of the Nation’s Boyfriend Actor-Idol,” released in 2022. Sojang’s defense argued, “She believed the content of the video to be true.”

After the court session, reporters from Dispatch pursued A for a statement. A, however, covered in a wig and mask, fled the scene. Wearing a flowing white skirt, she remained silent amidst the barrage of questions, while her lawyer warned the press of legal action against them.

This isn’t A’s first brush with controversy. In 2022, Sojang posted several defamatory videos targeting various celebrities, including IVE’s Jang Wonyoung. This led to both civil and criminal lawsuits from Starship Entertainment. According to Starship, “There are two civil lawsuits filed against Sojang. One case is set for argument in January, and Jang Wonyoung’s case resulted in a default judgment due to the defendant’s non-response.”
