Chungha will be stepping down as the DJ of KBS CoolFM’s “Chungha’s Volume Up” to focus more on her music career.
On September 30, her agency MORE VISION announced, “Chungha will be stepping down from KBS CoolFM’s ‘Volume Up’ after the October 6 broadcast.”
Reflecting on her time as DJ, Chungha shared, “It was an invaluable time that I’ll remember for the rest of my life, an experience I couldn’t have had anywhere else. Thanks to everyone’s warmth and support, I was able to grow a lot. I think I’ll feel a bit empty for a while.”
She continued, “I felt the need to focus more on my music career, which led me to make this difficult decision to step down. Since it wasn’t an easy choice, I promise to return as a singer with an even better image. I am grateful to everyone, and I hope you’ll continue to support ‘Volume Up.’”
The production team also commented, “We respect her decision and will continue to cheer for her as a singer.” They added that the discussions for her successor are currently underway.
Chungha, who has been hosting “Volume Up” since October 2, 2023, will hold her final live broadcast on October 4, followed by pre-recorded shows on October 5 and 6.
“Volume Up” airs daily from 8 p.m. to 10 p.m. KST.
