The upcoming comedy film “Forbidden Fairytale” has shared new stills of Choi Siwon in character!
With a star-studded cast led by Park Ji Hyun, Super Junior’s Choi Siwon, and Sung Dong Il, “Forbidden Fairytale” follows Dan Bi, a woman who dreams of becoming a fairy tale writer but works as a public official cracking down on obscene content. When circumstances force her to write R-rated web novels, she unexpectedly discovers a hidden talent for explicit storytelling.
Choi Siwon plays Jung Seok, a once-star senior official experiencing burnout from his job cracking down on adult content. After six years with the Youth Protection Team—nicknamed the “Obscene Content Regulation Squad”—Jung Seok’s self-confidence and motivation have hit rock bottom. Just as he’s ready to hand in his resignation, Dan Bi joins the team. Promised a transfer to his dream department if he can endure three more months, Jung Seok gives his all as he takes Dan Bi under his wing. The pair’s quirky mentor-mentee relationship promises plenty of laughs and heartwarming moments.
Reflecting on his return to the big screen, Choi Siwon shared, “It’s been a while since I’ve greeted audiences through film, and I’m both excited and deeply aware of the responsibility this brings.” He also revealed his approach to his character, explaining, “From Jung Seok’s perspective, Dan Bi is the rookie he’s been waiting for. When Jung Seok is explaining rules so his junior knows how to handle situations, I focused on ensuring that Jung Seok’s guidance felt fast-paced and dynamic.”
Choi Siwon also shared his thoughts on the film’s appeal, “This is a comedy that audiences can enjoy without any heavy thoughts. While the premise might seem provocative, the story is carefully balanced to ensure it’s enjoyable and approachable for everyone.”
“Forbidden Fairytale” is set to hit theaters on January 8, 2025.
