MBC’s “When the Phone Rings” has shared a glimpse of a suspenseful moment from its next episode!
Based on a popular web novel, “When the Phone Rings” tells the story of Baek Sa Eon (Yoo Yeon Seok) and Hong Hee Joo (Chae Soo Bin), a couple that married for convenience—and the the romance that blossoms between them after a threatening phone call.

On the previous episode of “When the Phone Rings,” Baek Sa Eon—who thought he was talking to Hong Hee Joo’s kidnapper over the phone, but was actually talking to Hong Hee Joo herself—surprised his wife by fiercely defending her over the phone. The episode then ended on a cliffhanger, with Sa Eon coming face to face with a tearful Hee Joo while they were still on the phone—raising the question of whether he had finally figured out the identity of the threatening caller.
In newly released stills from the drama’s next episode, Sa Eon is on the phone with the mystery caller when he stops in his tracks in the middle of the road. With the phone still in his hand, Sa Eon remains frozen as he stares at a car speeding towards him.
While speaking to Sa Eon using her kidnapper’s phone, Hee Joo unexpectedly witnesses Sa Eon about to get hit by the mysterious car. Seeing her husband in danger, she hurriedly rushes to save him from the oncoming vehicle.
When Hee Joo suddenly arrives on the scene, Sa Eon is shocked to see her—and then confused by her actions.
