Chae Jong Hyeop and Kim Min Ju may be starring together as leads in a new romance drama!
On November 11, OSEN reported that Kim Min Ju has recently accepted the offer to star as the female lead in the upcoming drama “Shining” (literal title). Back on September 23, Sports Chosun reported that Chae Jong Hyeop would star as the male lead in the drama.
In response to the reports, Chae Jong Hyeop’s agency NS ENM shared, “It’s true that he has received an offer for ‘Shining,’ but nothing has been finalized yet. He is still reviewing the offer.”
Similarly, Kim Min Ju’s agency Management SOOP stated, “She has received the offer and is positively reviewing it.”
“Shining” tells the love story of a man and a woman whose world consists of just the two of them. Their bond serves as a guiding light in their lives and a source of belief even in the present.
Chae Jong Hyeop has reportedly been offered the role of Yeon Tae Oh, a train conductor. At 19, after losing his parents in a tragic accident and seeing his younger brother Tae Seo get injured in the same accident, his life takes a turn. After living a life full of loneliness, yearning, and pain, Yeon Tae Oh is reunited with Mo Eun Ah at the age of 30, a woman he first met when he was 19 and parted ways with at 20.
Kim Min Ju has reportedly been offered the role of Mo Eun Ah, a hotelier. After reuniting with Yeon Tae Oh at 30, she faces significant changes in her career, relationships, and the direction of her life.
“Shining” will be directed by Kim Yoon Jin of “Our Beloved Summer” and “Tell Me That You Love Me,” with the script penned by Lee Sook Yeon of “On the Way to the Airport.” The drama is slated for release in 2025.
