BTS leader RM took to Weverse on September 12th to share a heartfelt message with fans as he celebrated his 30th birthday.
“Already 30. Thank you so much for the heartfelt birthday wishes, even on a day that sometimes feels insignificant to me,” RM began, expressing his gratitude for the love he’s received from fans.
RM reflected on a Buddhist proverb that has helped guide him, sharing, “There’s a saying in Buddhism: ‘You should only rely on yourself as a lamp to live by.’ Whenever I feel uneasy or angry for no reason, I think of these words.” He added, “There’s a lot I want to say right now, but for today, I’ll let a few photos on Instagram do the talking.”
The BTS rapper also hinted at a time when he’ll share more in the future, stating, “Like RPWP (or that documentary), there will definitely be a time and place to express myself in a more beautiful and cooler way.”
RM then noted, “I’ve passed the halfway point of my service. It’s like that moment during a 3km run at the Nonsan training center when your breath catches in your throat. After the snow, the changing of the year, the warmth returning, and the cherry blossoms blooming again, I’ll come back strong.”
RM enlisted in the army last December and is set to be discharged in June 2024.
