BTS member Jin recently showed his admiration for actor Kim Soo Hyun and the hit K-Drama Queen of Tears. On July 15th, the YouTube channel for W Korea shared a Q&A session and behind-the-scenes footage from Jin’s photoshoot with the magazine.
During the interview, Jin updated fans on his busy schedule, saying, “I’ve been recording albums, working on songs, filming variety shows, and doing photoshoots.”
Jin shared a touching moment when asked about the members gathering on his discharge day: “At first, I couldn’t see the members. But when I turned around after greeting the camera, they were all hugging each other without me. They haven’t seen each other for a while as well. I missed them a lot during my service, and I realized they must have felt the same.”
Jin also sent a heartfelt video message to his fellow members currently serving in the military, saying, “Time will pass, and good days will come if you live diligently. I’ll be working hard, making the beautiful things first, so stay healthy and come back safely. I desperately need you guys.”
Reflecting on his military service, Jin, who served in the 5th Infantry Division recruit training center, shared, “I became an ‘elite warrior’ quickly because I followed orders well. I scored 18 hits in shooting and completed a 3km run in 11 minutes and 30 seconds, meeting the criteria.”
When asked about what kept him going during his service, Jin humorously admitted, “Like everyone else, I just zoned out with no thoughts. I realized how boring it was to have nothing to do.”
Jin was also asked if he had started any new series or watched any movies recently. He revealed his interest in 2024 tvN juggernaut Queen of Tears. Jin shared, “The drama I’ve enjoyed the most recently, although I didn’t catch it from the first episode, is ‘Queen of Tears.’” The BTS member then shared his favorite scene from the drama: a drunken Hyun Woo (Kim Soo Hyun) picking flower petals to determine his feelings for Hae In (Kim Ji Won). When he arrived home, he confessed his love for her, unaware she was listening on the other side of the door.
This candid interview gives fans a glimpse into Jin’s personal life and his admiration for Queen of Tears, showing a similar side of the global superstar.
“The most enjoyable drama I’ve watched recently, although I didn’t catch it from the first episode, is called ‘Queen of Tears.’ There was a scene where Kim Soohyun sunbae-nim holds flower petals and decides whether he likes her or not, and that scene was really cool to watch.”… pic.twitter.com/x4BiRbFUia
