BTS member Jin filled the streets of Rue de Rivoli in Paris with cheers as he took part in the torch relay for the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics.

On July 14th (local time), the day of the French National Day, Jin participated in the torch relay for the 2024 Paris Summer Olympics. The scene was crowded with people who gathered to support him. Dressed in the official white torchbearer uniform, Jin received the Olympic flame from the previous runner, who arrived on a bicycle, sparking loud cheers and applause from the crowd.

Jin carried the torch from Rue de Rivoli to Carrousel Square, passing through a significant segment in Paris. He handed over the flame to Sandra Laoura, a former French freestyle skiing champion, in front of the Louvre Pyramid. After completing his roughly 10-minute segment of the torch relay, Jin waved to the audience, wrapping up his role.

Following the event, Jin expressed his gratitude through his agency, Big Hit Music, stating, “It is an honor to be part of such a meaningful moment. I could fulfill the amazing role of torchbearer all thanks to ARMY. I am very grateful.”

He continued, “I was so nervous that time just flew by, but the loud cheers from everyone present helped me complete it to the best of my ability.”

Jin also shared his hopes for the athletes, saying, “I hope all the South Korean national team members achieve great results, just as they have worked hard. I will be cheering for them with all my heart. I also hope for continued interest in the upcoming ’17th Paris Paralympics’ in August.” He concluded, “I will continue to work hard and show you the best version of myself.”
