BTS member J-Hope has made headlines for purchasing two luxury apartments in Seoul, entirely in cash.

According to a report by BizHankook on the 3rd, J-Hope recently bought a penthouse in the upscale neighborhood of Seobinggo-dong, Yongsan, Seoul, for 12 billion KRW (approximately 9 million USD). He paid the full amount in cash. A month later, he went on to purchase another unit directly below the penthouse.

The report reveals that J-Hope, currently serving in the military, signed the contract for the second unit back on June 23rd, 2020, and completed the full payment on July 26th of this year, officially acquiring ownership. The current market value of these apartments is estimated to be between 11 billion and 12 billion KRW (approximately 8.2 million to 9 million USD).

It is also noted that J-Hope did not take out a mortgage for these purchases, meaning he spent over 20 billion KRW in cash to buy the two apartments. This isn’t J-Hope’s first foray into real estate, as he has previously purchased two other high-end apartments. With these latest acquisitions, J-Hope now owns a total of four luxury homes in Seoul.

Meanwhile, J-Hope enlisted in the military in April of last year and has been serving as an instructor in the 36th Infantry Division’s Baekho Recruit Training Center. He made headlines earlier for earning a two-month early promotion to corporal due to his exemplary service. J-Hope is scheduled to be discharged on October 17th.
