BTS’s Jin wasted no time reconnecting with fans after his discharge from military service, solidifying their already strong bond.
Big Hit Music reported that Jin reached out to global ARMYs through a variety of online and offline events following his discharge on the 12th. First up was a Weverse Live stream as he made his way back to HYBE’s office. Not only did all the BTS members participate, but fans from 211 regions tuned in to celebrate, with viewers from Mexico (12.4%), Indonesia (11.3%), and Japan (10.2%) leading the charge. This highly anticipated broadcast, Jin’s first solo interaction since his birthday in December 2022 and his discharge, drew over 900,000 concurrent viewers and racked up an impressive 119,452,607 likes.
The lovefest continued the next day, the 13th, at the Jamsil Indoor Gymnasium where Jin headlined the 2024 FESTA with his special event, “Jin’s Greetings.” There, he got to personally hug 1,000 lucky fans.
ARMYs rose to the occasion to welcome Jin back. Understanding concerns about overcrowding, they followed Big Hit Music’s suggestion and showered Jin with love from afar. Fans displayed their support with creative placards, banners, and even wrapped buses. This global fandom also demonstrated their solidarity by considering Jin’s schedule, including the event near HYBE’s office and the 2024 FESTA activities.
Jin’s heartwarming reunion with ARMYs was a beautiful testament to their enduring connection. In a Weverse message, Jin expressed his gratitude: “To the reporters who captured such amazing photos of me today, thank you so much! And to all the ARMYs who came to the company to show their love, I’m incredibly grateful. Even though I couldn’t greet everyone properly because of the crowds, please know how much I appreciate all of you. Our ARMY is simply the best!”
