BTS’s international fanbase, ARMY, has issued a warning to Korean media and Min Hee Jin, the former CEO of HYBE subsidiary ADOR, via social media.
On September 16th, ARMYs used the hashtag “MinHeeJinOut” to release a statement expressing unified opposition to Min Hee Jin’s return to ADOR. In the statement, fans wrote, “We strongly oppose Min Hee Jin’s reinstatement as the CEO of ADOR, a HYBE subsidiary. We are well aware of the actions Min Hee Jin took during BTS’s military service, as well as her attempts to manipulate the Korean media against BTS.”
They continued, “We view any media narratives and criticisms of BTS that appear to support Min Hee Jin as baseless accusations. We urge Min Hee Jin to stop using artists and fandoms as shields to further her agenda and spread falsehoods.”
ARMYs also advised fellow fans to be cautious of Korean media, emphasizing, “We recommend that ARMYs do not trust Korean media. As previously reported, there have been indications that the media would be used to spread various stories targeting BTS during their enlistment period.”
Previously, after Min Hee Jin was removed from her position at ADOR, NewJeans members publicly voiced their support for her in a livestream. BTS’s Jungkook also sparked discussion when he posted on his dog’s Instagram account, saying, “Artists are not guilty.” Many interpreted this as a response to the Min Hee Jin situation.
In response to the speculation, Big Hit Music stated, “Jungkook’s post was made with the thought that, in any case, young artists should not be dragged into disputes or used as shields.”
