“Family by Choice” has shared new stills ahead of its upcoming episode!
“Family by Choice” is a JTBC romance drama about three people who reconnect after spending 10 years living together as a family and another 10 years living apart as strangers. During their adolescence, Kim San Ha (Hwang In Youp), Yoon Ju Won (Jung Chaeyeon), and Kang Hae Jun (Bae Hyeon Seong) are raised together by Kim San Ha’s father Kim Dae Uk (Choi Moo Sung), and Yoon Ju Won’s father Yoon Jeong Jae (Choi Won Young).

Kang Hae Jun, who was brought to the Haedong neighborhood 20 years ago by Ju Won’s father Yoon Jeong Jae, never showed his longing for his mother, always thinking about the family he was living with. Even when his mother visited Haedong after 10 years, only to pay back the money she owed Yoon Jeong Jae without seeing him, he was deeply hurt but still believed that his mother would eventually return, clinging to the hope that she had promised to do so.
Despite these expectations, even after Kang Hae Jun returned from the United States, his mother Kang Seo Hyun (Baek Eun Hye) failed to keep that promise. Kang Seo Hyun, who was operating a beauty salon near Haedong, showed no signs of coming to visit, which only fueled Kang Hae Jun’s bitterness. His constant longing to see her, even if just for a brief moment, made his actions all the more heartbreaking.
The newly released photos depict the long-awaited reunion between Kang Hae Jun and Kang Seo Hyun after 20 years. In the photos, Kang Seo Hyun, who once came to Haedong to repay a debt but turned away without meeting her son, and Kang Hae Jun, who has been carrying years of resentment and longing for his mother, finally meet again.
As Kang Seo Hyun previously expressed that she just wanted Hae Jun to live a normal life, viewers are eager to find out the full story about why she never visited him and how their story will unfold now that they have finally met after 20 years.
