Get ready to learn more about Kim Min Jung and Kim Ji Eun’s tragic past on “Check in Hanyang”!
Set in the Joseon era, “Check in Hanyang” is a new romance drama about four young people who become “interns” at Yongcheonru, the grandest inn in all of Joseon. Bae In Hyuk stars as Lee Eun Ho, a prince who is secretly hiding his identity, while Kim Ji Eun plays Hong Deok Soo, a woman who disguises herself as a man to join Yongcheonru.

Previously on “Check in Hanyang,” it was revealed that Master Innkeeper Seol Mae Hwa (Kim Min Jung) was the reason Hong Deok Soo had entered Yongcheonru. Going against her father’s dying wish to “never go to Yongcheonru, no matter what,” Hong Deok Soo joined the inn as an intern in order to meet Seol Mae Hwa, who had killed her father years ago.
The drama also revealed glimpses of Hong Deok Soo’s past relationship with Seol Mae Hwa from when she was a child. Back when Seol Mae Hwa was her father’s student, the two were especially close, and Seol Mae Hwa was even the one to teach her how to win at dice. However, their story abruptly ended in tragedy when Hong Deok Soo witnessed Seol Mae Hwa killing her father.
In the upcoming third episode of the drama, Seol Mae Hwa will recall the young Hong Deok Soo—who then went by the name of Hong Jae On. This time, viewers will get to see things from Seol Mae Hwa’s perspective, through her memories instead of Hong Deok Soo’s. As their past is gradually revealed, there will be unexpected twists in their story.
