The late Kim Soo Mi’s upcoming film “Ghost Cop” (literal translation) has unveiled a new poster!

The movie “Ghost Cop” is a family comedy about a police officer who, after failing to strike it rich and being struck by lightning instead, gains trivial abilities and becomes caught up in an unexpected family incident.

Kim Soo Mi reunites with Shin Hyun Joon for the third time, after working together in “Barefoot Gi-Bong” and the “Marrying the Mafia” series. Known for their close relationship, the two actors will enliven the film with their natural ad-libs, bold conversations, and perfect comedic timing.

Jung Joon Ho will also make a special appearance, bringing his real-life friendship with Shin Hyun Joon to the screen.

Shin Hyun Joon stars in the film as a legendary police officer who falls from grace after a single case. Now living with his daughter at his mother’s house, he unexpectedly gains a small, seemingly useless ability after being hit by lightning. Kim Soo Mi plays a tough, no-nonsense woman who runs a popular local soondae soup restaurant while living with her flawed son and only granddaughter. Jung Joon Ho takes on the role of the antagonist responsible for the main character’s downfall, showcasing a new side of himself as a thug.

The newly released poster features the tagline “Let’s laugh in January 2025,” positioning the film as the first family comedy of the new year. The message reflects the filmmakers’ hope to spread joy and laughter across the country in the coming year. Meanwhile, above the title of the film lies the phrase “A pointless ability has been gained,” which teases the film’s quirky premise.

As the poster captures a son carrying his mother on his back, both smiling broadly, it evokes memories of the “Barefoot Gi-Bong” poster and heightens expectations for the mother-son chemistry between Kim Soo Mi and Shin Hyun Joon.

“Ghost Cop” is set for release in January 2025. Stay tuned for more updates!
