tvN’s upcoming drama “The Queen Who Crowns” has offered a sneak peek of Lee Hyun Wook’s character!

“The Queen Who Crowns” tells the story of the fiery life of Queen Wongyeong (Cha Joo Young), a kingmaker who dreamed of a new world in the early days of the Joseon dynasty and made her husband, Lee Bang Won (Lee Hyun Wook), a king with whom she shared the power of the throne. Although she was described in historical records only as “King Taejong’s wife” or “Mrs. Min” without her full name, the drama will reimagine history from the perspective of Queen Wongyeong, who lived an independent life without losing herself in spite of devastating betrayals and harsh reality.

Lee Hyun Wook stars as Lee Bang Won, the third king of the Joseon Dynasty, alongside Cha Joo Young, who stars as Lee Bang Won’s wife Wongyeong. This role fulfills a long-time wish for fans eager to see Lee Hyun Wook in a historical drama, particularly due to his well-known portrayal of cold and charismatic characters.

The newly released stills showcase Lee Hyun Wook’s transformation. His cool, controlled charisma shines through, with his sharp features accentuated by royal attire. His intense gaze adds to his commanding presence. Known for adding depth and unique style to every role, Lee Hyun Wook’s portrayal of both the king of Joseon and Wongyeong’s husband builds anticipation for how he will navigate the character’s complex emotions.

The production team shared behind-the-scenes insights, saying, “Lee Hyun Wook brought Lee Bang Won’s character to life with just a glance, leaving everyone in awe. His delivery, gestures, and costume all felt completely natural, showcasing his incredible ability to embody the role.” They added, “Above all, Lee Hyun Wook’s cold-hearted charm will shine through. His gaze, filled with emotion and determination, tells a story itself. We ask for your attention and support for ‘The Queen Who Crowns,’ where Lee Hyun Wook’s talent and passion will deliver an outstanding performance.”
