Ha Jung Woo and Gong Hyo Jin are set to star together in the upcoming comedy film “The People Upstairs” (working title).

On December 11, a source from the entertainment industry told JTBC Entertainment News, “Ha Jung Woo and Gong Hyo Jin will collaborate as actor and director in the film ‘The People Upstairs.’”

Later that day, a representative from Ha Jung Woo’s agency Walk House Company confirmed, “Ha Jung Woo is preparing to present his fourth directorial project. He will also star alongside Gong Hyo Jin in the film.”

The two previously showcased their great chemistry in the 2012 films “Love Fiction” and “Project 577,” and Gong Hyo Jin recently demonstrated her unwavering support by attending Ha Jung Woo’s 14th solo art exhibition. This marks their first collaboration as actor and director. With filming scheduled to begin in January 2025, fans are excited to see the synergy they’ll bring to the screen 13 years after their last project together.

“The People Upstairs” is a comedy film about two couples who meet due to noise complaints between apartments and end up having dinner together. The film will be Ha Jung Woo’s fourth directorial work, following “Fasten Your Seatbelt,” “Chronicle of a Blood Merchant,” and the upcoming film “Lobby.”

Filming for “The People Upstairs” is set to begin in January 2025.
