SBS’s “The Fiery Priest 2” has shared a glimpse of Kim Nam Gil and Jung Dong Hwan’s emotional reunion!
A sequel to the hit 2019 drama about priest Kim Hae Il (Kim Nam Gil) with anger management issues, “The Fiery Priest 2” follows his story as he takes on the boss role of an organization by night and heads to Busan to fight the top drug cartel in the country.
Spoilers
Previously in Episode 8, Kim Hae Il discovered that Kim Hong Shik (Sung Joon) was far more dangerous than just a drug dealer, capable of orchestrating large-scale destruction. Determined to locate the bombs and toxic gas hidden by Kim Hong Shik, Kim Hae Il set out on a perilous mission. However, the episode ended with an intense cliffhanger as Kim Hae Il was ambushed at the seminary by Kim Hong Shik’s men, leaving him bloodied and unconscious.
The newly released stills depict Kim Hae Il reuniting with Father Lee Young Joon (Jung Dong Hwan), who was central to the storyline of “The Fiery Priest” Season 1. The scene unfolds as a wounded Kim Hae Il, dressed in a hospital gown with a bandage around his head, sits in deep thought. From a distance, Father Lee Young Joon watches him before approaching to sit by his side. With a serene smile, he takes Kim Hae Il’s hand.
Viewers are left wondering about the reason behind Father Lee Young Joon’s appearance, as the character passed away in the first season. What impact will this have on Kim Hae Il, who once found his way thanks to Father Lee Young Joon during his pre-priesthood struggles?
The production team expressed, “We are incredibly grateful to actor Jung Dong Hwan for graciously agreeing to make this special appearance. Please look forward to the synergy between Kim Nam Gil and Jung Dong Hwan, whose interactions in Season 1 always left a touching and lasting impression.”
The next episode of “The Fiery Priest 2” will air on December 6 at 10 p.m. KST.
