Upcoming film “Fairy Tale, But Rated R” (literal translation) has unveiled its first poster!

With a star-studded cast led by Park Ji Hyun, Super Junior’s Choi Siwon, and Sung Dong Il, “Fairy Tale, But Rated R” follows Dan Bi, a woman who dreams of becoming a fairy tale writer but works as an adult content censor. When circumstances force her to write R-rated web novels, she unexpectedly discovers a hidden talent for explicit storytelling.

The film’s ironic title—mixing the innocence of fairy tales with a “not suitable for minors” rating—raises curiosity about how an aspiring children’s writer ends up crafting adult web novels.

Park Ji Hyun takes on the role of Dan Bi, a rookie public official tasked with censoring adult content while holding onto her dream of writing fairy tales. After an unexpected accident leaves her 1 billion won (approximately $716,358) in debt, she turns to writing R-rated web novels. Fresh off her bold performance in the adult-rated thriller “Hidden Face,” Park Ji Hyun makes her comedy debut in “Fairy Tale, But Rated R.”

Choi Siwon plays Jung Seok, a senior official experiencing burnout from his job censoring adult content. As Dan Bi’s mentor, he helps her navigate her new challenges, rediscovering his own enthusiasm in the process.

Sung Dong Il completes the main cast as CEO Hwang, the head of a publishing house desperate for a star writer. As the self-proclaimed godfather of the R-rated web novel world, Sung Dong Il promises a standout performance filled with humor and charisma.

The film’s launch poster highlights Park Ji Hyun as Dan Bi, posing against a pink background with a playful yet mischievous expression that draws attention. The tagline that reads, “The naughty devil inside me has awakened,” teases the bold and cheeky imagination Dan Bi taps into as she delves into writing R-rated web novels.

“Fairy Tale, But Rated R” is set to hit theaters on January 8 next year.
