Lim Ji Yeon and Choo Young Woo opened up about their chemistry in the upcoming JTBC drama “The Tale of Lady Ok”!
“The Tale of Lady Ok” tells the intense survival con game of runaway slave Goo Deok Yi (Lim Ji Yeon), who assumes the identity of Lady Ok Tae Young after faking her name, status, and even her husband, and Cheon Seung Hwi (Choo Young Woo), who risks everything to protect her.
Lim Ji Yeon takes on the role of the fake Ok Tae Young, a runaway slave living under the guise of a noblewoman. Choo Young Woo stars as Cheon Seung Hwi, a renowned storyteller who secretly hides the fact that he is actually Seong Yoon Gyeom, the eldest son of the noble Seong family. The palpable chemistry between the two actors has already left viewers eagerly anticipating their dynamic.
Lim Ji Yeon gave her chemistry with Choo Young Woo a score of 99 out of 100, wittily leaving “1 point for the viewers to fill.” She added, “It was my first time working with Choo Young Woo. Although we both faced the challenge of portraying multiple personas, we filmed with consideration for each other. I received a lot of help from him and we worked hard to embody our characters.”
Choo Young Woo expressed his gratitude, saying, “It was a big honor to act alongside senior Lim Ji Yeon. Filming with her taught me a lot and I relied on her throughout. She always made it easy to act comfortably and the process of discussing and crafting better scenes together was truly enjoyable.”
Lim Ji Yeon reflected on her character Goo Deok Yi, who is living as the fake Ok Tae Young, saying, “As she becomes someone who helps those in need and falls deeply in love with one man, her journey becomes more meaningful over time as her aspirations continue to grow.” Meanwhile, Choo Young Woo described Cheon Seung Hwi as someone who “dreams of a world where the woman he loves can live happily,” further building anticipation for the series.
