With the final deadline for a response approaching, ADOR has addressed one of NewJeans’ demands.

Earlier on November 13, NewJeans sent a certification of contents to their agency ADOR, demanding that ADOR rectify all significant breaches of the exclusive contracts within 14 days from the receipt of the letter. They stated, “If our demands for rectification are not accepted, we will terminate our exclusive contracts.”

NewJeans’ demands included necessary actions regarding the statement in the HYBE’s music industry report that said, “We can just start anew by discarding New [NewJeans],” an official apology from a manager of another HYBE label who said to “ignore Hanni,” an assessment and resolution of the damages NewJeans suffered due to “album pushing,” and the resolution of the dispute with director Shin Woo Seok, who directed NewJeans’ music videos including “Ditto” and “ETA.”

With November 28 set as the final deadline given by NewJeans, ADOR released the following statement a day before:

This statement is in response to the actions required by the certification of contents from the artists.

Hello, this is ADOR.

On October 7, 2024, BELIFT LAB released a statement regarding their manager’s disregard remarks. ADOR has maintained a cautious stance to avoid unnecessary controversy involving our artists. However, despite our efforts, the related controversy has not subsided, so we are clarifying ADOR’s position.

BELIFT LAB’s claims are entirely different from the testimony of NewJeans member Hanni. Hanni clearly remembers that on May 27, 2024, a member of BELIFT LAB made remarks involving her, such as, “Ignore her,” or “Just ignore and pass by.” It is unreasonable and harsh to expect the victim to recall every detail of the incident, which occurred in a relatively short moment, in order to consider this issue a problem. ADOR and its members fully trust our artist’s words and genuinely regret the harm Hanni has suffered.

We hope that BELIFT LAB does not take Hanni’s suffering lightly and shows mutual respect, and we expect a sincere attitude from BELIFT LAB in this matter to ensure that unnecessary controversies involving ADOR’s artists do not continue.
