Coupang Play’s upcoming drama “Family Matters” has released a new poster and teaser!
“Family Matters” tells the story of a mother with the special ability to freely edit people’s memories, who teams up with her family to wreak havoc on bad guys. The cast includes Bae Doona, Ryoo Seung Bum, Baek Yoon Shik, Lomon, and Lee Su Hyun.
The newly released poster draws attention with the emotionless faces of Young Soo (Bae Doona) and Chul Hee (Ryoo Seung Bum), both dressed in bloodstained white gowns.
Set in a worn-down house, the image contrasts Young Soo casually holding a bloodied knife and work bag while Chul Hee cradles a dog, with blood splatters scattered around. The tagline, “Bring them home, and Mom will take care of it,” raises questions about the mysterious and unsettling business of this unusual family.
The main trailer, released alongside the poster, begins with a chilling warning from Young Soo. She says, “What you imagined will be much worse, so watch closely,” revealing the truth behind brain hacking and promising intense thrills. The line, “Bad actions come with bad consequences,” along with the Roman numeral “10” tattooed on Young Soo’s body and the family’s coordinated movements, builds suspense about what has happened to them.
Young Soo’s line, “I don’t care how many people die. Nothing matters more than our Ji Hoon (Lomon) and Ji Woo (Lee Su Hyun),” followed by high-octane action, shows the family’s fight to protect one another and captures viewers’ attention. A line from grandfather Kang Sung (Baek Yoon Shik), “Don’t we feel more like a family today than we did yesterday?” hints at how five people with no blood ties can still form a unique family dynamic.
