The upcoming film “Firefighters” has unveiled new stills of Lee Yoo Young!
Directed by Kwak Kyung Taek, “Firefighters” captures the authenticity of real-life events by telling the story of firefighters who responded to the fire disaster in the Hongje neighborhood in March 2001. It will vividly depict the urgent situation faced by the team from the Western Fire Station, along with the sweat and tears of firefighters working under challenging conditions, all driven by a singular goal of extinguishing the fire and rescuing everyone.
In the film, Lee Yoo Young takes on the role of Seo Hee, an emergency medical responder who provides critical care to both fire victims and the firefighters themselves.
The newly released stills show her in a paramedic uniform, offering a calm smile as she provides support. Known for her strength and resilience, Seo Hee brings warmth and support to the team, occasionally providing comforting words to the firefighters.
In another image, she is seen with a serious, concerned expression, highlighting her deep care for the well-being and safety of her colleagues.
Lee Yoo Young shared, “I didn’t know much about the incident, but as I prepared for the project, I learned more details and filmed with an apologetic heart.”
She also spoke about the experience of working alongside the actors portraying the firefighters, saying, “My character is an emergency responder, which is different from other actors. Since my role was to wait outside the scene, I felt sympathy and concern for the actors who were wearing heavy gear and clothing while filming. I hoped that everyone would stay safe throughout the shoot.”
“Firefighters” is set to hit theaters on December 4.
