Lee Dong Gun’s father spoke about his son’s “casanova” image.

The November 17th episode of SBS variety show My Little Old Boy featured Lee Dong Gun and his mother’s final travelogue in Taiwan, with his father observing from the studio. He mentioned his son’s history of public relationships and how that earned him the nickname “casanova.”

During the Taiwan trip, comedian Heo Kyung Hwan, who joined Lee Dong Gun and his mother, hesitated for a moment before asking, “Is it okay if I ask this question?” He then directed the question to Lee Dong Gun’s mother, “How many times has Dong Gun had public relationships?” She replied, “Three times.”

However, in the studio, Lee Dong Gun’s father replied with a smile, “About five times.” The correct answer, as he said, was indeed five. He elaborated, “Whenever my son dates, it always becomes public. So, I asked him, ‘You’re a celebrity, why don’t you keep your relationships private?’”

He shared Lee Dong Gun’s response, “He said that going public was a way of respecting the other person. But eventually, he earned the nickname ‘casanova.’ He once said, ‘I was just being honest, so why am I called a ‘casanova’?’”

Previously, Lee Dong Gun was known for dating his co-stars or being involved in dating rumors every time he worked on a project. In 2016, he publicly dated actress Jo Yoon Hee, whom he met on KBS2’s The Gentlemen of Wolgyesu Tailor Shop, and they eventually married. However, they divorced in 2020.
