The upcoming film “Firefighters” has shared a behind-the-scenes look at its production process ahead of its premiere!

Directed by Kwak Kyung Taek, “Firefighters” captures the authenticity of real-life events by telling the story of firefighters who responded to the fire disaster in the Hongje neighborhood in March 2001. It will vividly depict the urgent situation faced by the team from the Western Fire Station, along with the sweat and tears of firefighters working under challenging conditions, all driven by a singular goal of extinguishing the fire and rescuing everyone.

The released footage captures the set of “Firefighters,” where the crew repeatedly ignite and extinguish fires to recreate the actual scene of the 2001 Hongje fire disaster. Director Kwak Kyung Taek explained his motivation for making the film, saying, “Our people feel apologetic toward firefighters, and I wanted to tell that story.”

Joo Won reflected, “I remember reading the script with all my heart,” showing his strong commitment to the role. Lee Jun Hyuk added, “I’m naturally afraid of fire, so I have deep respect for those who have overcome that fear.”

Before the main filming began, the actors completed several weeks of firefighting training to realistically portray the sweat, tears, and dedication of real firefighters. The footage captures the cast members’ intense performances as they work together on the filming set.
