On a recent episode of TV Chosun’s All By Myself, Jo Yoon Hee shared heartfelt reflections on co-parenting with her ex-husband, Lee Dong Gun, expressing that if her daughter, Roa, ever wished to live with her father, she would respect that choice.
During the show, Jo Yoon Hee and her daughter attended an art therapy session. Asked to draw a picture of their family, Roa hesitated before drawing only her mother, father, and grandmother—leaving herself out. The therapist noted, “Roa appears to feel anxious and burdened by her art, as if she fears not receiving the recognition she needs.”
Jo Yoon Hee also talked about her drawings of her and Roa. “I’m not very forgiving of myself. Even when others tell me I’m doing well, if I can’t see it, it torments me,” she said. “I’m a very ordinary person, and working in this industry, all I see are what I can’t do, and that really hits me hard.”
Saying that she’s the type to keep the pain to herself, the actress added, “Roa fills the emptiness for me. Without her, I’d likely be far more pessimistic about myself. I used to feel very down before she was born.”
Jo Yoon Hee revealed her devotion to her daughter, saying, “My daughter means everything to me. I want to be a warm, loving mother for her. If she ever decides she wants to live with her dad, I’d let her, even if it hurts me. I want her to have what she wants.”
