BLACKPINK is proving that whether they’re together or apart, they continue to reign as K-pop’s leading girl group.
Following the renewal of their group activities contract with YG Entertainment late last year, the members of BLACKPINK are now pursuing solo ventures through their own agencies. Jennie established “Odd Atelier,” Lisa runs “Loud,” Jisoo launched “Blisoo,” and Rosé remains under The Black Label with Teddy at the helm, where she is pursuing her solo career without setting up a personal label.
Rosé kicked off her solo activities on October 18th with the pre-release single APT., a collaboration with pop star Bruno Mars. Inspired by the popular Korean game “APT Game,” the track features addictive lyrics and melody. The single shot to No. 1 on major domestic music charts, becoming an instant hit.
“APT.” will be included in Rosé’s upcoming first full solo album, Rosie, set to release on December 6th. The album will feature 12 tracks, including the title track and “APT.”, with Rosé personally contributing to the writing and composing of every song. With her pre-release already dominating charts, expectations for Rosie are soaring.
Jennie, who released her single Mantra on October 11th, has also been making waves. “Mantra,” a bold anthem encouraging listeners to shine in their own way, debuted at No. 5 on Spotify’s Global Daily Top Songs chart, setting a new personal record for Jennie. It also topped iTunes charts in 57 countries, including the U.S., Brazil, Singapore, and Mexico. Jennie made a triumphant return to Mnet’s M Countdown on the 17th after eight years, performing “Mantra” and taking home the trophy.
Lisa has also been busy with solo ventures, beginning with her June release of “Rockstar.” The track landed at No. 8 on the Spotify Global Chart and hit No. 70 on the Billboard Hot 100. It topped Billboard Global (excluding the U.S.) and ranked No. 4 on the Global 200 Weekly Chart. Lisa followed up with the release of “New Woman” in August and most recently, “Moonlit Floor” on October 4th.
Jisoo, on the other hand, is focusing more on her acting career through her solo activities. She is currently filming for the upcoming film Omniscient Reader: The Prophet and the Coupang Play drama Newtopia.
Despite their solo pursuits, BLACKPINK’s popularity remains unshaken. As each member carves out her own path, the group is gearing up for a reunion in 2025, with plans for a comeback and world tour in the works.
