A servant’s fate takes an unexpected turn in a flower-adorned palanquin in JTBC’s highly anticipated drama The Tale of Lady Ok, set to premiere on Saturday, November 30th. The release of the first teaser poster featuring Lim Ji Yeon as Gu Deok Yi—a servant with a complex destiny—has already generated significant buzz.

The Tale of Lady Ok tells the story of Ok Tae Young (Lim Ji Yeon), a woman whose name, status, and even husband are all fake, and Cheon Seung Hui (Choo Young Woo), a man who is willing to risk his life to protect her. Lim Ji Yeon, known for her compelling performances in every project, will once again show her unmatched versatility as she portrays two strikingly different personas within a single character.

The newly revealed teaser poster captures Gu Deok Yi’s ironic situation—she is a humble servant, yet finds herself seated in a lavish flower palanquin. The contrast between her tattered clothes and the vibrant, ornate decorations of the palanquin offers a visual representation of the conflicting life she will lead, leaving a powerful impression.

Gu Deok Yi’s posture on the palanquin is equally intriguing. While her attire is that of a lowly servant, and her face bears scars and a lifeless expression, there is an undeniable aura of dignity in her presence. Her eyes, filled with both anxiety and confidence, hint at the complex emotions she will wrestle with as she assumes the identity of the noblewoman, Ok Tae Young. The tagline, “The fate of a servant put in a flower-adorned palanquin,” teases the dramatic shifts in her life and builds anticipation for the series.

Lim Ji Yeon’s intense, beautiful portrayal of a survival drama will unfold in The Tale of Lady Ok, premiering on JTBC on November 30th at 10:30 PM KST.
