Upcoming JTBC drama “The Tale of Lady Ok” has shared a sneak peek of its first script reading!
“The Tale of Lady Ok” tells the intense survival con game of Ok Tae Young (Lim Ji Yeon), who fakes her name, status, and even her husband, and Cheon Seung Hwi (Choo Young Woo), who risks everything to protect her.
At the script reading, director Jin Hyuk and writer Park Ji Sook were joined by lead cast members Lim Ji Yeon, Choo Young Woo, Kim Jae Won, Yeonwoo, and more.
Lim Ji Yeon takes on the role of Ok Tae Young, Joseon’s most skilled trickster who leads a complex and precarious life as runaway slave Goo Deok Yi before assuming her new identity as Ok Tae Young. Her compelling performance brings to life the contrasting traits of the hardworking servant Goo Deok Yi and the clever and bold Ok Tae Young.
Choo Young Woo plays the romantic Cheon Seung Hwi, a free-spirited performer who travels the country reciting tales. During the script reading, his heartfelt delivery captures his character’s unwavering tenderness and passion.
Kim Jae Won portrays the perfect gentleman Sung Do Kyeom, a coveted young master admired by all. His close-knit relationship with his sister-in-law Ok Tae Young adds a heartwarming dynamic to the drama, while his blossoming romance with Cha Mi Ryeong brings an enchanting touch of chemistry that will surely captivate viewers.
Yeonwoo plays Cha Mi Ryeong, who learns about outside affairs from Ok Tae Young and aspires to be like her. With her charming demeanor and unpredictable allure, she embodies a lovely yet intriguing presence all while harboring a hidden secret that adds an air of mystery to her character.
Each actor brings their unique flair to their characters, while also showcasing exceptional chemistry with one another. The impressive cast also includes Lee Jae Won, Kim Jae Hwa, Oh Dae Hwan, and more, all poised to deliver a range of diverse and dynamic performances that will elevate the drama to new heights.
“The Tale of Lady Ok” is set to premiere on November 30 at 10:30 p.m. KST.
