NCT WISH’s Sakuya has suffered a minor ankle injury.

On October 5, SM Entertainment announced that Sakuya had injured his ankle and would therefore remain seated during NCT WISH’s performance at the 2024 K-Link Festival later that day.

The agency also explained that while they had initially intended for Sakuya not to perform at all, they agreed to let him perform seated due to his wish “to meet his fans in person.”

SM Entertainment’s full statement is as follows:

Hello.

Today, Sakuya suffered a minor injury to his ankle, so he will be performing seated during [NCT WISH’s] scheduled performance at the K-Link Festival.

Because we thought it would be best for Sakuya not to participate in a performance that includes excessive movement, we planned to have Sakuya sit out this performance. However, due to the artist’s wish to meet his fans in person, it was ultimately decided that he would perform seated, so we ask for fans’ generous understanding in regards to the fact that this decision was made based on the artist’s own wishes.

We will do our utmost to help our artist make a speedy recovery.

Thank you.

Get well soon, Sakuya!
