Kim Hyun Joong’s agency has responded to a report about the reunion of SS501.
On October 17, a media outlet reported that SS501 will reunite as a full five-member group to celebrate their 20th debut anniversary in 2025. The report also mentioned that they are preparing a new album with the goal of releasing it early next year, targeting the Japanese market.
In response to the report, Kim Hyun Joong’s agency HENECIA shared, “We have not heard anything regarding the reunion of SS501. We have not been informed about it.” They added, “As we have no information, we have nothing to say.”
SS501, consisting of members Kim Hyun Joong, Park Jung Min, Kim Hyung Jun, Heo Young Saeng, and Kim Kyu Jong, debuted in 2005 and gained popularity both domestically and internationally with their hit songs such as “Never Again,” “Snow Prince,” “Déjà Vu,” and “Because I’m Stupid.”
After releasing their mini album “Destination” in May 2010, they concluded their group activities following the expiration of their contracts with the group’s former agency DSP Media. Later on, Kim Kyu Jong, Kim Hyung Jun, and Heo Young Saeng formed the unit group SS301 in 2016 and continued their activities until 2018.
