The tension between Park Shin Hye and Kim Jae Young in SBS’s hit drama The Judge from Hell is ramping up, leaving viewers wondering if the two will join forces as their relationship shifts dramatically.

The Judge from Hell is dominating both ratings and social buzz, outperforming three newly-released shows in the same timeslot. The drama’s viewership has steadily climbed, breaking its own record, and in the second week of October, Park Shin Hye (as Kang Bit Na) secured the top spot in the TV series cast rankings.

At the heart of the show’s success is the electrifying dynamic between its two leads, Kang Bit Na and Han Da On (Kim Jae Young). From their intense first meeting to the shocking ending of episode two—where the female lead kills the male lead—their relationship has kept viewers on edge. What started as a cautious cat-and-mouse game has morphed into something even more dangerous, as deep emotions and fatal stakes come into play.

The eighth episode marked a major turning point in their connection. After losing someone he cares for to serial killer J, Han Da On snaps, screaming at Kang Bit Na, “Kill someone for me!” His desperate rage brings Kang Bit Na to tears as she empathizes with his pain.
