Sul Kyung Gu, Hong Kyung, and Ryu Seung Bum will be starring in a new film together!
On September 27, Netflix announced the production of “Good News” (working title) along with the cast lineup including Sul Kyung Gu, Hong Kyung, and Ryu Seung Bum. They shared, “Good News’ is a film set in 1970, depicting the suspicious operations of people gathered to land a hijacked plane by any means necessary.”
“Good News” marks the second collaboration between Netflix and director Byun Sung Hyun, who was awarded the Grand Bell award for Best Director at the 58th Baeksang Arts Awards with his film “Kingmaker: The Fox of the Election.”
It is also noteworthy that actor Sul Kyung Gu will be working with director Byun Sung Hyun for the fourth time following their collaborations on “The Merciless,” “Kingmaker: The Fox of the Election,” and “Kill Boksoon.” Sul Kyung Gu will transform into a mysterious fixer who shows up whenever needed to resolve incidents.
Hong Kyung will play the role of an Air Force lieutenant involved in the secret operation, showcasing his unique blend of gentle yet powerful charm. Known for his multi-faceted portrayals of characters in various dramas including “Weak Hero Class 1,” “The Devil,” and “Troll Factory,” he is set to reveal a new side of him.
Lastly, Ryu Seung Bum will star as the government official in charge of overseeing the entire operation, a charismatic character that is expected to add authenticity and tension to the story with his unrivaled acting skills.
