K-pop idols are known for singing, rap, and dance performances—but there are some idols who go above and beyond and can play musical instruments too! From the piano to the guzheng, here are some idols who could play musical instruments with the pros.

TXT’s Huening Kai

Those who can play the piano will tell you that these are some particularly difficult pieces that TXT’s Huening Kai played for his mini recital! Most impressively, it’s not only the piano that he’s proficient at—he’s also a great drummer as well.

MAMAMOO’s Wheein

Speaking of the drums, let’s talk about MAMAMOO’s Wheein! As if this dance performance wasn’t hype enough, her drum solo in the middle is absolute perfection. Fans are always thrilled when they get to see Wheein showing off her skills!

SEVENTEEN’s Woozi

Perhaps one of the more surprising musical talents to come out of a K-pop idol, SEVENTEEN’s Woozi proved that he’s a great clarinet player! He’s also a drummer. As the main producer for SEVENTEEN, it makes sense that he knows his way around a melody and a beat.

TWICE’s Dahyun

Another idol who stunned fans with a gorgeous piano performance, TWICE’s Dahyun has been known for her piano skills. She’s posted several piano covers throughout the years, but this one truly shows off her high skill level. She sounds amazing!

NCT’s Mark

Known frequently to play songs with the members of NCT, Mark covered EXO’s Christmas classic “The First Snow” and Justin Bieber’s “Mistletoe” with Haechan on the vocals. Mark is definitely busy with keeping up with his schedules as an idol and guitar practice!

Sunmi

As an original member of Wonder Girls, of course it makes sense that Sunmi is a killer on the bass guitar—but she’s been a star soloist for so long that some fans may have forgotten just how good she is! She’s a true bass guitarist at heart.

ZEROBASEONE’s Zhang Hao

Having studied music in China before becoming an idol, Zhang Hao is a certified pro on the violin! He first impressed fans with his skills on “Boys Planet” before going on to take the MAMA 2023 stage with his violin.

(G)I-DLE’s Yuqi

There are plenty of covers of (G)I-DLE’s top hit “Queencard” out there, but this has to be one of the most unique! Yuqi pulled out her guzheng, a classical Chinese instrument, in order to play the groups’ song. It’s one of the most creative and beautiful renditions so far!
