tvN’s upcoming drama “Jeongnyeon: The Star Is Born” has shared new posters!

Based on a popular webtoon, “Jeongnyeon: The Star Is Born” is directed by Jung Ji In, known for “The Red Sleeve.” Set in the 1950s, shortly after the Korean War, the drama follows Jeong Nyeon (Kim Tae Ri), a young vocal prodigy who dreams of becoming a top traditional theater actor. The show explores Jeong Nyeon’s journey through competition, teamwork, and personal growth amid a difficult era for the nation.

Ahead of its premiere, the series has released a witty poster featuring the female national theater troupe Maeran, known for its immense popularity in the show. The black-and-white poster looks like a promotional flyer recruiting singers for the Maeran National Theater Troupe, and it depicts the members dressed in a mix of traditional hanbok and Western-style clothing. The design captures the essence of actual flyers from the 1950s, the era in which the story is set, effectively conveying a charming retro vibe.

Featured on the promotional flyer are the gifted singer Yoon Jeong Nyeon, her elite rival Heo Young Seo (Shin Ye Eun), troupe leader Kang So Bok (Ra Mi Ran), and star performers Moon Ok Kyung (Jung Eun Chae) and Seo Hye Rang (Kim Yoon Hye), all of whom have a captivating presence that inspires admiration. Other members of the troupe featured include Hong Joo Ran (Woo Davi), Park Cho Rok (Hyun Seung Hee), Baek Do Aeng (Lee Se Young), Seo Bok Sil (Jung Ra El), and Jin Yeon Hong (Jo Ah Young).

With taglines like “top national theater troupe” and “sold out every performance,” the poster builds excitement for the epic story of competition, teamwork, and growth that will play out among these talented Maeran performers.
