The stars of JTBC’s “Romance in the House” have shared their thoughts ahead of tonight’s series finale!
“Romance in the House” stars Ji Jin Hee as Byun Moo Jin, a man who vanished into thin air after his wife Geum Ae Yeon (Kim Ji Soo) divorced him 11 years ago. After being presumed dead by his family for over a decade, he suddenly re-enters their life as their wealthy landlord.
With just one episode left to go, the drama’s leads expressed their gratitude to their viewers and took a nostalgic look back at their experience filming the show.
Ji Jin Hee remarked, “I still remember filming the drama so clearly that it feels like it was just yesterday, so I can’t believe that it’s aired and we’re already at the finale. First, I would like to sincerely thank the director, writer, the entire cast and crew, and all of the viewers who watched our drama from the beginning to the end.”
“Through this drama, I tried to show a different side of myself from usual, and I’m really happy because I think that aspect was conveyed well to viewers,” he continued. “I became very fond of the character of Byun Moo Jin, who is immature but can’t be hated, and who was somehow more appealing because he was pitiful. But now, the time has come for me to say goodbye. I hope that Moo Jin and his family members will be happy, and I will greet you again with good news in the future.”
Meanwhile, Kim Ji Soo shared, “Because I had a great deal of affection for this drama while filming, I feel very sad that it’s ending.”
The actress went on, “I would like to thank the director, writer, and all of the cast and crew that worked together to create the great drama and memory that is ‘Romance in the House.’ I also sincerely thank the viewers who have given their love to the drama up until now. Thanks to the love you gave us, we gained the strength to keep going until the very end.”
Son Naeun commented, “I still can’t believe that it’s already time to leave the cheerful and bold Mi Rae in the past. I related a lot to Mi Rae, who lives her life more fiercely than anyone, and I was very fond of how honest and human she was. I was happy to have been able to be a part of Mi Rae’s growth as she overcame her wounds and gradually found her own life.” She added, “Thank you to everyone who accompanied Mi Rae on her journey in ‘Romance in the House.’”
SHINee’s Minho nostalgically remarked, “Hearing that the drama’s already ending, all of the scenes I filmed flash by before my eyes, and I feel once again just how happy I was during the time I spent as Tae Pyung.”
“That’s why I’d like to thank the director, writer, and the cast and crew with whom I worked together on ‘Romance in the House,’” he continued. “I’m also truly grateful to the viewers who loved Tae Pyung and the drama. I will work hard to greet you with an even better side of myself, so please give me lots of interest and support.”
Finally, ASTRO’s Sanha expressed his deep affection for his character by sharing, “I think that through playing the cute and cheerful Hyun Jae, my own personality also became more cheerful. Because I feel like Hyun Jae’s personality caused a positive change in my everyday life, I feel sad at having to say goodbye to him.”
He went on to recall, “Even before filming started, I spent a lot of time reading the script together with the director and discussing my character. Each and every time, she helped me a lot and told me lots of useful things, so I think I was able to act with more confidence. Additionally, thanks to my [on-screen] dad Ji Jin Hee, my mom Kim Ji Soo, my sister Naeun and Minho, as well as the Villa family and the staff, I made happy memories that I will never forget. Thank you.”
