Uprising
Uprising is an upcoming South Korean historical war action film directed by Kim Sang Man, written by Shin Cheol and Park Chan Wook. The film stars Kang Dong Won, Park Jung Min, Cha Seung Won, Kim Shin Rok, Jin Seon Kyu and Jung Sung Il.
Set in Japanese invasions of Korea, the film follows Cheon Yeong, a slave with remarkable martial prowess who struggles to break free from an unjust servitude, and Jong Ryeo, Cheon Yeong’s master, meeting again as enemies of King Seonjo’s closest military officer and volunteer soldier during a time of chaos.
It will premiere at the 29th Busan International Film Festival as the opening film on October 2nd and release on Netflix in the fourth quarter of 2024.
RM: Right People, Wrong Place
BTS leader RM‘s solo documentary, RM: Right People, Wrong Place, is set to make its world debut at the Open Cinema section of the 29th Busan International Film Festival.
A teaser video released at the festival’s press conference showcased some of the highlights of this year’s screenings, including RM’s documentary. The film offers an intimate look into the creative process behind his solo album, Right Here, Wrong Place, released in May.
The documentary features personal recordings from the eight months leading up to RM’s enlistment in the South Korean military. Given that he enlisted in December 2023 and is currently serving, the announcement is sure to excite fans worldwide. RM: Right People, Wrong Place will be screened at an outdoor theater at this year’s film festival.
You Are the Apple of My Eye
The film You Are the Apple of My Eye has been officially invited to the World Premiere of the Korean Cinema Today – Panorama section at the 29th Busan International Film Festival.
The movie tells the story of Jin Woo (played by Jinyoung), a carefree teenager who spends countless days trying to confess his love to Sun Ah (Dahyun).
As a remake of the Taiwanese film of the same name, which achieved top box office records in Asia and China, You Are the Apple of My Eye has garnered significant attention both domestically and internationally even before its release, thanks to its casting alone. After its world premiere at the 29th Busan International Film Festival, the film is set to meet the audience.
