Psychiatrist and TV personality Yang Jae Woong has postponed his wedding with EXID member and actress Hani, aka Ahn Hee Yeon.
On September 3rd, Mystic Story, which manages Yang Jae Woong, confirmed to OSEN, “We understand that Dr. Yang is currently delaying the wedding. It won’t be happening immediately.”
Yang Jae Woong and Hani, who have been openly dating since 2022, had announced plans to marry in September. However, in the meantime, a tragic incident occurred at a clinic operated by Yang Jae Woong, where a patient died. Allegations have surfaced that the patient was neglected, leading to her death.
The bereaved family has since filed a criminal complaint against the clinic, accusing it of involuntary manslaughter due to neglect. They have also lodged a petition with the National Human Rights Commission of Korea. Criticism intensified when it was revealed that Yang Jae Woong announced his marriage plans just four days after the patient’s death.
Due to the mounting criticism, it has been reported that Yang Jae Woong is postponing the wedding indefinitely. Mystic Story further stated, “As the police investigation is ongoing, it seems they are waiting to see how things develop.”
In July, Yang Jae Woong issued a statement through Mystic Story, expressing deep remorse over the incident, saying, “We sincerely apologize to the deceased’s family.” He assured that the hospital is fully cooperating with the ongoing investigation, providing all necessary documents and footage, and promised that both he and the medical staff would comply with any further inquiries and take responsibility based on the outcomes.
