Park Jin Young and Roh Jeong Eui to star in new K-drama The Witch (working title), which will air as a weekend series on Channel A!
The Witch is a mystery romance that tells the story of a woman rejected by her village because the men who fall in love with her end up injured or dead. The plot follows a man determined to save her from this tragic fate. The drama is based on the popular webtoon of the same name by Kangfull, known for his works Moving et idiot. The series is directed by Kim Tae Kyun, the director of Dark Figure of Crime.
Park Jin Young will play Dong Jin, a data analysis expert. To prove that the woman he loves, Mi Jeong, is not a witch, he majors in statistics at university and, ten years after graduating, puts his life in danger to unravel the mystery of the curse, hoping that Mi Jeong can finally reintegrate into society.
Roh Jeong Eui will play the role of Mi Jeong, a mysterious woman who has isolated herself from the world. Since her childhood, strange events have been happening around her, and men who like her end up injured or dead. Convinced that her destiny is cursed, Mi Jeong lives as a recluse while yearning to return to a normal life.
Channel A said: “By launching Cinderella at 2am on the 24th, followed by Marry YOU, Check-In Hanyang and now The Witch, we have finalized our weekend drama schedule. We offer a wide variety of romance genres, from workplace romance and island romantic comedy to historical youth romance and mystery romance. »
The Witch, scheduled for release in 2025, promises to renew the romance genre when it airs next year.
