During the screening event, Lee Min Ho shared his thoughts on the progression from Season 1 to Season 2. “While ‘Pachinko’ Season 1 focused on the survival of those living on the land, Season 2 portrays the brutal struggle of people who are trying to live beyond just survival,” he said.

He further elaborated on his character, Hansu, stating, “In Season 2, Hansu continues to grapple with discrimination against his roots and his own identity, which leads him to become even more obsessed with Sunja and Noa.”

Kim Min Ha, who left a strong impression with her powerful performance in Season 1, spoke about the challenges of portraying an older Sunja in the new season. “When starting Season 2, the passage of time was the biggest challenge. In Season 1, Sunja’s youthful innocence was so strong and beloved, but now as the head of the family, I had to think a lot about how to convey those years,” she explained, highlighting her dedication to capturing Sunja’s evolution.

Pachinko is a sweeping narrative that begins with a forbidden love story and spans across Korea, Japan, and the United States, capturing unforgettable tales of war and peace, love and loss, victory and judgment. Following the release of the first episode on August 23rd, the series has been receiving worldwide acclaim. Season 2 of Pachinko consists of eight episodes, with new episodes being released every Friday on Apple TV+ until October 11th.
